What a fantastic three days 54 year four pupils enjoyed on camp at Delaware. With an activity programme packed with mountain biking, canoeing, climbing and archery, pupils showed great resilience and a willingness to step out of their comfort zone as they made the most of every opportunity. Hopefully the pictures will give you an insight into just what a great time we all had. Meanwhile back at SIJS other year 4 pupils joined a Code Club, learning to write code using the software ‘Scratch’, created their own amazing 3D sculptures using cellotape and immersed themselves in learning how to budget effectively as part of My Money week.
What an amazing three days year 5 experienced under canvas at Porthpean camp, near St.Austell. Pupils were lucky enough to experience climbing, archery, zooming down a zip wire and flying off the ‘leap of faith!’ The second day was an entire beach day where pupils could choose to do two of three exciting activities. These were: kayaking, raft canoeing and (for the very adventurous!!) coasteering! Everyone had a super sunny time and resilience was shown in abundance. Thanks to all at Porthpean Outdoor Education Centre for a memorable time! Take a look at the photo gallery below for more….
Wow!!!!! What a fantastic three days year 4 enjoyed at Delaware camp. Blessed with beautiful weather pupils learnt to climb, canoe, ride mountain bikes and participate in archery skills, demonstrating super resilience for the whole of our time away. Hopefully the picture gallery captures what a super time pupils had.
53 Pupils from year 5 experienced an exciting plethora of indoor and outdoor activites at Porthpean Camp near St.Austell last week.
The weather held off (in the day, as it poured it down overnight!!) for them to enjoy archery and the heights of the climbing wall, leap of faith, Jacob’s Ladder and a zip wire! We got wet and wild on the beach day on Thursday, canoeing, kayaking and coasteering. This was also followed by a funky disco in the evening for those with energy left to burn. Friday morning the sun shone as we packed up the tents to head back home to St.Ives.
Fantastic fun for both pupils and teachers!
